The book 'La Rioja, its vineyards and wine', published by the Ministry of Agriculture, received the 2010 Prize of the OIV.

The book 'La Rioja, its vineyards and wine' edited by the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Rural Development Government of La Rioja has been awarded this year the Prize of the International Organization of Vine and Wine (OIV) in the category monographs and specialized studies and promotional descriptive character.

For 80 years, the Awards Jury of the OIV reward the best written works, earthrise credits, that represent a scientific contribution, original, relevant and international in scope for the sector of the vineyard and wine. These efforts are judged by a panel of experts (academics, journalists, scientists, historians) in viticulture, enology, wine economies, wine and health, history, literature and fine arts.

For the second consecutive year, the OIV recognizes a paper published by the Government, ffxiv gil, of La Rioja, as in his previous award also call the play 'analysis of a sector. The Rioja between two centuries' by Emilio Barco, edited by the Ministry of Agriculture.

'La Rioja, its vineyards and wine' was presented a year ago and is structured into five thematic blocks: Memory, La Vina, La Bodega, Visions, and sensations, which, mortal gold, in turn contain the nineteen chapters that have been developed by 19 technicians and experts in the wine world, under the coordination of the Ministry of Agriculture.

Through its 304 pages, the publication explores issues of interest to the industry and the transformation of the wine, the Qualified Designation of Origin, environmental conditions, the cycles of vine cultivation techniques and the preparation, the importance of the barrels, farmers and winemakers, economics, marketing, quality model, research, innovation, or the countryside, tourism and artistic expression related to wine.

The nineteen chapters are the work of Santiago Ibanez Rodriguez, Provedo Jesus Gonzalez, Jesus Alonso Javier Castroviejo, Lya Harpoon Sainz, Fernando Martinez All Fernandez, Javier Tardaguila, Enrique Dominguez Garcia-Escudero, Jose Hidalgo Togores, Ana Rosa Gutierrez Viguera, Juana Garcia Martinez Emilio Royo Barco, Ma Cruz Navarro Perez, Thomas Perry, Jose Luis Lapuente Sanchez, Jose Miguel Martinez Zapater, Juan Bautista Chavarri Mardones, Luis Vicente Pastor Elias, Ma Jesus Escuin Guinea, and Manuel Ruiz Hernandez
